New Secondary Attendance Reporting Procedures

At  St. Luke, student attendance and care of our students are of critical importance.

To enhance our existing absence procedure, the York Catholic District School Board is introducing a new Secondary student absence reporting system. This new system will make it easier for you to report your child’s absence and reduce the time it takes for staff to respond to unexplained first period student absences.

This new program is now available for parents and/or guardians to report their child’s absence or late arrival in advance, or before school start for the current day by accessing the Secondary Attendance Program using one of these three methods:

  • Toll Free SchoolMessenger Phone Number 1 855 856 7862

  • The SchoolMessenger website:

  • The SchoolMessenger App  from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

Parents and/or guardians are requested to report absences for students attending in-person face to face and distance/remote learning.

Additional information will be sent home with your child at the beginning of school, however instructions for the use of the new SchoolMessenger website and app  have been posted below.

In order for this system to be successful, it is important that we have the correct contact information for you on file.  If any of your phone or email contact information has changed, please contact our school.

We kindly ask for your patience and cooperation as we transition to this new Secondary Attendance Reporting program.
